Xbox One Update: Introduces Media Remote, OneDrive Now Available Worldwide this March


Microsoft recently revealed some exciting updates to its latest gaming console Xbox One which will start rolling out this March.  Major improvements on multiplayer and party experiences are some of the exciting updates Xbox One players are to going to get next month.



Among the major update to be expected is the introduction of Xbox One Media Remote, allowing users to control video playback for Blu-ray movies and streaming video on Xbox One. The One Media Remote also features glow in dark backlit buttons and is elegantly designed with soft silicone finish which allows you to hold it comfortably in your hands. Likewise, it can also control TV/Receiver power and volume via Kinect. The Xbox One Media Remote will be priced $24.99.

Microsoft also announced that its OneDrive app will be available worldwide and will be used to roll out seamlessly across all devices updated features and content on Xbox, Windows Phone, iOS and Android.

With One Drive app, users can also share their gaming moments, play and watch slideshows. The app also has an auto-upload option for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

Users are initially given 7GB of cloud storage and extra storage space can be accumulated by enabling their camera roll back up and inviting more friends.

Microsoft will select and invite a group of Xbox Live members to test the new features and provide feedback, according to Microsoft on Xbox Newswire. Selected users will get a message from Xbox Live containing a token to register.

Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Games Studios also shared on Twitter, that Microsoft will be in GDC 2014 but it will not be as big as E3 2014 where we can expect most news from Microsoft's next-generation console.
