Archos added another octa-core contender in the market by introducing 50c Oxygen, an octa-core smartphone that runs on MediaTek’s MT6592 SoC with a Cortex A7 CPU clocked to 1.7 GHz.

The Archos 50c Oxygen is among a host of Android devices they will be carrying to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this weekend.

This octa-core smartphone packs a Mali 450MP4 GPU, a the 5-inch 1280 By 720 display with 293 ppi, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage space expandable via MicroSD card, a decent 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel camera on front, and GSM and HSPA+ telephony and data connection.

While everything else is fairly mid standard, it is a standout as far as overall design in concerned with its 6.77mm overall thickness which will surely impress those who value sleek design and portability. It is expected to hit the market soon with an introductory price of $199 which is still fairly cheap for an octa-core device.
