It seems like fraud offers like these are on the rise, luring and gagging unsuspecting online users who will always step in to get something for free. And recently, these PS4 beta test offers have been circulating around, most notoriously on Facebook, asking users to like their Facebook page and share the post for a chance to get selected as PS4 beta testers and get the chance to keep the unit for themselves.
Sony has officially issued a warning via its Twitter account that these beta test offers are fraud and people should watch out and stay away from them. PlayStation's official tweet reads: "Important: Sites or individuals offering "PS4 beta tests" are frauds. Don't be fooled! Follow @PlayStation for official news on PS4".
Sample of the Facebook PS4 scam is shown above. These kind of scams are used to trick social network users to inflate page "likes" or make their stories go viral. Participants will never receive anything or in this case the promised PS4 unit. It you happen to see one of these fake offers, do not click on any links it shows, and do not like and share. We are all smart and responsible online citizens, so act like one.
