If rumors are true that LG and Google are really working on this beast, this could beat a lot of high-end smartphones in the market including the just announced Samsung Galaxy S 4.
The picture below shows the alleged prototype of the new LG Nexus 5. Speculated specs list include an OLED HD 5.2-inch 1080 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU running at 2.3GHz, 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16/32/64GB internal storage option, 16-megapixel rear camera from Omnivision, 2.1-megapixel front camera, 3,300 mAh battery, front stereo speakers, LTE 150Mbps and HSPA+, built-in DVB-T/ATSC Antenna, and gesture-like controls.
Rumored specs may be too good to be true but we should take note Google+ head Vic Gundotra's recent statement that future Nexus devices would have "insanely great cameras". The insanely high 16-megapixel camera on the Nexus 5 may have validated his statement.
The next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon series 800 made its debut at the recent MWC 2013. It offers very impressive features that could eclipse other front-running cpu in the mobile market. Paired with the 16-MP camera on the Nexus 5, it has the ability to capture and output 4k resolution videos at 30fps, and 1080p at 60fps.
Looks like LG and Google won't be able to sell this phone as standard to low priced gadget because it sounds too impressive and costly to adopt. But a lot of us would not mind giving away more money for an insanely power packed phone like this. We will surely hear more about this smartphone soon most especially near the last quarter of this year when it is supposedly rumored to be released.
